History of Cuenca

Cuenca is a tourist town with a population of about 50.000, located in the centre of Spain. Here the language is clean and pure. This way, our students can learn Spanish without regional accents.

The historic part of Cuenca is so beautiful that in 1997 it was declared a world heritage site by the UNESCU.

The old town, also called Old Town Centre, was built through the centuries on a narrow and rocky platform, about 1000 metres high. Cuenca is surrounded by two rivers. Its architecture is unique in the world, with features of defensive and strategic Arabic architecture.

In Cuenca, you will be pleasantly surprised when you visit our most typical buildings: what we call Hanging Houses.

In addition, Cuenca is surrounded by beautiful scenery, rivers lakes and swamps. In its mountain range you will enjoy the impressive scenery with rocky formations, extensive pine forests, numerous natural canyons, rivers and lagoons.

If you sign up for our outings we will show you all this and much more...
